Step 1 Admission

• Complete and submit an Admissions Information Form.

Olympic College is an open-door college. All students intending to register at Olympic College should complete an Admissions Information Form. You may access this form on the web at  and click on “Entering OC”. Paper copies are available from the Outreach and Admissions office. International Students should follow Admission instructions in Chapter 1 of the 2002-2003 Catalog.

If you want to be considered for Financial Aid, complete an application forms well in advance of the quarter you will attend. Application forms are available at the Financial Aid office on the third floor of the College Service Center.

The most important application forms, the “Data Sheet” and the FAFSA are available online by the following the Financial Aid links on the Olympic College website at www.oc.ctc.edu.

Step 2 - Assessment

Location: Student Entry and Advising Center - (Lower level of the Haselwood Library)

Use the outside entrance next to the Bremer Clock Tower

• Take the assessment in reading, writing and math.
• After the assessment you will have scores to take to your advisor to get information on which courses are best for you.
• If you have courses in college-level Mathematics or English from another college, the assessment may not be necessary. Contact an advisor in the Student Entry and Advising Center (SEAC) for an evaluation of previous course work to determine if an assessment exemption is appropriate.

Step 3 - Orientation

• Complete an orientation session, either online or in person. To access the online Orientation, go to the web site listed above. To make an appointment to attend an Orientation session, contact the Student Entry and Advising Center.
• Orientation sessions help you discover vital information about getting started at Olympic College.

Step 4 - Advising & Registration

Meet with an advisor either individually or in a group to receive advising and registration information. Call the Student Entry and Advising Center at 360-475-7230 to make an appointment with an advisor or to reserve a seat in a group advising and registration session.

Please note that some programs of study require a meeting with specific program or discipline advisors prior to registration. Call the SEAC to find out which programs and services have special advisors.

Prepare for your advising meeting by

• Bringing an unofficial transcript of previous college work.
• Providing a copy of your placement test scores.
• Reviewing the class schedule, the “View,” so that you have an idea of what courses are being offered and which ones you would like to take. Remember that you may not always get your first choice of courses, so pick out alternative classes.
• Thinking about your future educational and career goals.
